Brief

Dr. SK Lau received his B.Eng.(1st Hons.) in Building Services Engineering and Ph.D. from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1997 and 2003, respectively. He has worked in the BSE industry as a consultant engineer before his Ph.D. study. In 2001, he took up an Application Manager position at Acron International Technology Ltd, [which was established under the entrepreneurship program of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology,] designing environmental systems (acoustics, energy efficient and indoor air quality systems). In 2002, he worked at Emerson Climate Technology, managing industrial R&D projects and analyzing & devising solutions to product design, especially to mechanical noise and vibration in industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems. During 2005 – 2006, he joined Johnson Electric as an Assistant Manager (R&D) leading a team of researchers and engineers for R&D projects of rotary machines. He was a member of Center Of Excellence (COE) in Johnson Electric.
