NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF THE PERFORMANCE OF WIND CATCHER

Background

The windcatcher is one type of green features for providing better natural ventilation. The buildings with only window openings usually have poor ventilation, especially when the windows are small (as shown in Fig 1 (a) and (b)). The windcatcher can change the direction of wind and channel the fresh air into rooms (as shown in Fig 2).
