The Department of Building Services Engineering (BSE) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is acknowledged to be among the leading provides of BSE graduate education in Hong Kong. Established in 1992, the department’s MSc/PgD in BSE has provided excellent career development opportunities to many building service engineers through its extensive range of core and elective subjects. In recognition of its high quality, MSc/PgD in BSE received full accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) in 2006. The programme is offered within the PolyU’s Faculty of Construction & Land Use (FCLU), adding further opportunity for subject selection. Subjects offered within the MSc/PgD in BSE range from core knowledge in electrical installations, HVAC and fire safety engineering. The programme also offers a wide selection of innovative elective subjects such as building energy simulation, sustainable buildings in the built environment and engineering intelligent buildings. Students are encouraged to select subjects that provide the greatest opportunity for their career development, leading toward leadership positions in the industry.

The PolyU Building Services Engineering Graduate Programme is offered at either the Masters (MSc) orDiploma (PgD) level. Students enrolling on the MSc in BSE are required to obtain 30 credits, whereas students enrolling on the PgD are required to obtain 21 credits.
